PICKWICK STABLES The stable is a high-quality facility designed to provide the elements needed for each individual performance horse to be safe, comfortable, healthy and relaxed, the keys for a successful career.
The entire complex is heated and insulated, yet remains airy and bright. Stall sizes range from pony to those suitable for brood mares and larger warmbloods. The average is 12’x12’. For horses needing a private and quiet setting, there are stalls with solid dividers. More social horses enjoy the open bar dividers of other stalls. All stalls are matted and have independent waterers.
The washstall is comfortably equipped with hot and cold water, a soaking trough for feet and legs and heat lamps. The washstall also contains an industrial washing machine for limited horse laundry (8 quarters).
There are three climate-controlled tack rooms for students and boarders.
Our management live on the premises, and are constantly aware of activities within the stables. This ensures the best possible care.
INDOOR ARENA The heated, ventilated, 80’x160’ indoor sand/rubber arena allows year-round riding ease. The ring boasts a stereo sound system for use during clinics or for riding to music.
LOUNGE Our riders, parents, visitors and guests can watch the activities in the indoor arena through our fully furnished glass-walled viewing lounge with easy seating for 20. Our lounge with its full kitchen, eating area, stunning stone fireplace, and summer air-conditioning also serves as a clinic classroom, party hub, and homework location, as well as a great place to just hang out and relax.
OUTDOOR RINGS Two show rings are within close proximity to the stables. The rings overlook the picturesque Piney Run Reservoir. Bothave all-weather footing, and are dragged regularly. The Hunter ring, “The View” is 150’x225’. The Jumper ring, “The Overlook”, is 150’x250’. Both boast full sets of courses, with plenty of room to practice flat work or dressage. A grass ring is also used for flatwork and hacking.
SURROUNDING AREA The farm, while only 5 minutes away from the major shopping and restaurant areas along Rts 26 and 32, is surprisingly serene and quiet for both horses and clients. Picnic areas are found throughout the property.
There are extensive trails around the fields and through the forest on Dedication Farm’s own property, and there is easy access to the trails along the Piney Run Reservoir.
